Badminton at Paralympics 2024: Palak Kohli and Mandeep Kaur crashed out in the quarterfinal round of their respective events, while Manisha Ramadass assured India of a medal after booking an all-Indian semi-final on Sunday (September 1).
Indian para shuttler Palak conceded a 19-21, 15-21 defeat against Indonesia's Khalimatus Sadiyah in the women's singles SL4 quarterfinal match that lasted 28 minutes.

Palak had a stunning start to the match, however, she failed to hold her nerves and lost the first set 19-21. In the second set, the Indian shuttler lost 15-21 against Khalimatus.
Mandeep, on the other hand, looked listless in the women's singles SL3 quarterfinal match against Nigeria's Mariam Eniola Bolaji, losing 8-21, 9-21 in just 23 minutes.
In the first set, the Indian para shuttler conceded an 8-21 defeat. In the second set, Mandeep failed to make a comeback and lost 9-21 against her Nigerian opponent.
Meanwhile, Manisha set up a semi-final meeting with compatriot Thulasimathi Murugesan in the singles SU5 event after overcoming Japan's Mamiko Toyoda 21-13, 21-16 in the quarterfinal match that lasted for 30 minutes.
Manisha and Thulasimathi will clash in the last four match later tonight, when Suhas Yathiraj and Sukanth Kadam will lock horns in another all-Indian semi-final match in men's singles SL4 event. All-Indian semi-final assures India of at least two more medals.
More para shuttler could get closer to a medal when they battle in their respective semi-final matches. Nitesh Kumar will take on Japan's Daisuke Fujihara in the men's singles SL3 event.
Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sivan, who lost the mixed SH6 semi-final on Saturday (August 31), will face Subhan and Rhina Marlina of Indonesia in the bronze medal match on Monday (September 2).
Nithya Sivan will also be in action in the women's SH6 singles match on Sunday (September 1), taking on Poland's Oliwia Szmigiel in the quarterfinal round.
Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Krishna Nagar and Sivarajan Solaimalai crashed out of the men's singles SH6 event. Tarun Dhillon, Manoj Sarkar and Manasi Joshi also bowed out of their respective events in the group stages.
