BWF Awards 2023: Full List Of Winners From Badminton Year End Awards Ceremony

Korea bagged the top honours at the BWF Awards 2023 ceremony which was held in conjunction with the BWF World Tour Finals 2023 draw ceremony in Hangzhou, China on Monday (December 11).

While An Se Young won the female player of the year 2023, her compatriot Seo Seung Jae became the first male double titlist at the BWF World Championships since 1999 after he won the male player of the year 2023.

An Se Young bags BWF Female Player of the Year 2023 Award

Seo excelled in both his doubles categories (men's doubles with Kang Min Hyuk and mixed doubles with Chae Yu Jung). He also won four HSBC BWF World Tour titles in the assessment period (1 November 2022 to 31 October 2023).

Seo beat off competition from former World Champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark and current World Champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand to win the Men's Player of the Year award.

An Se Young, who won 11 titles in the assessment period - including a run of five consecutive titles which included the HSBC BWF World Championships 2023 and the Asian Games gold, beat off China's Chen Yu Fei and Japan's Akane Yamaguchi to the Women's Player of the Year award.

Apart from the individual awards, China won awards in three categories as women's doubles pair Chen Qing Chen & Jia Yi Fan, Jiang Zhen Bang & Wei Ya Xin, and Liu Sheng Shu & Tan Ning won the awards.

Women's doubles world No.1 Chen/Fan, who dominated the 2023 season with seven titles, were named for the 'Pair of the Year' ahead of India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, China's Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong and mixed doubles world champions Seo/Chae Yu Jung.

Mixed doubles duo Bang/Xin were named 'Most Improved Player of the Year' ahead of Malaysia's Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei and Denmark's Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.

Shu/Ning, who broke into the top 10 of the World Rankings with four World Tour titles, received the 'Eddy Choong Most Promising Player' award.

There were also awards for the best dressed male and female player at the Gala. Chen Tang Jie and Jongkolphan Kititharakul walked away with the respective prizes. Here is a look at the full list of award winners:
