India's Priyanshu Rajawat will lock horns with France's Alex Lanier in the Canada Open 2024 semi-final match on Saturday (July 6) at the Markin-MacPhail Centre in Calgary, Canada.

The emerging Indian shuttler held off the in-form top seed Anders Antonsen of Denmark by a scoreline of 21-11, 17-21, 21-19 to stay in pursuit of his first HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 title.

The 22-year-old earlier defeated World No. 24 Rasmus Gemke of Denmark in the round of 32 and World No. 33 Takuma Obayashi in the last 16 on his way to the semifinals.

Lanier, on the other hand, defeated third seed Kenta Nishimoto in straight games 21-17 21-17 in the men's singles quarter-finals to get closer to his second title at the Canada Open, having won the tournament in 2022.

In the earlier rounds, Lanier eased to straight games wins en route to the last eight, defeating India's Sankar Subramanian in the first round before beating Chinese Taipei's Su Li Yang in the second round.
