Bengaluru, December 11: PV Sindhu has set her eyes on the season-ending Super Series crown and following the draw of the Dubai World Super Series Final on Monday (December 11), the odds are heavily tilted in favour of the Olympic Champion.

Sindhu, who has been in tremendous form this season, has been drawn in Group A of the women's group stage. And the 22-year-old's road to the semis look effortless. Sindhu is pegged as one of the favourites to win the tournament as the Indian's tough rivals, Carolina Marin and Nozomi Okuhara have withdrawn from the event, leaving no major thorns in Sindhu's path. Marin ruled herself out of the competition last week (December 5) due to a hip injury.

World No. 3 Sindhu has been drawn alongside Akane Yamaguchi, Sayaka Sato and He Bingjiao in Group A. Meanwhile, Group B consists of Tai Tzu Ying, Sung Ji Hyun, Ratnachok Intanon and Chen Yufei.

Sindhu who has pocketed two Super Series title this year, along with a runner-up finish and a silver at the World Championship, clearly stated in an interview with PTI that she would like to finish the year on a high with a win in Dubai. "I have no regrets because I did pretty well this season. Now I really hope the year ends on a good note, that is at the Dubai Super Series Finals, I hope I do well there. It's not going to be easy as all the top players will be playing. Each match from the first round will be tough. So I have to be prepared from the start to do well in Dubai," Sindhu, a semifinalist in the previous edition, told PTI.

Meanwhile in the men's category, Kidambi Srikanth will have a tough outing after being grouped with World No. 1 Viktor Axelsen, following Monday's (December 11) draw. The other two shuttlers in Group B of the men's category include, Shi Yuqi and Chou Tien Chen.

On the other hand the four shuttlers clustered in Group A include, former world no. 1s Chen Long and Lee-Chong Wei, along with Son Wan Ho and Ng Ka Long Angus.

World No. 4 Srikanth who has had a tremendous season will be raring to go as he makes a return from injury. It will be a match of equals as the Indian ace faces off with defending champion Axelsen.

The Super Series final is set to kick off in Dubai from Wednesday (December 13), and both Srikanth and Sindhu, who have been at the top of their game will look to return home with a medal.
