India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the French Open Badminton men's doubles title for the second time in three years following a dominant straight games win over Chinese Taipei's Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan in the final in Paris on Sunday (March 10).
The top seeds from India, who won the doubles crown in 2022, defeated the Chinese Taipei duo by a scoreline of 21-11 21-17 in 37 minutes on court 1 at the Adidas Arena in Paris.

The Indian pair of Chirag and Satwiksairaj dominated Chinese Taipei's Lee-Yang right from the offset, easing throght the first game 21-11 to take an early advantage. However, Lee-Yang showed some fight in the second game against the Indian pair.
But Chirag-Satwik, the Asian Games champions, withstood the pressure and beat their opponents 21-17 in the second game to win the final match, extending their unbeaten record against the Chinese Taipei duo to 3.
The French Open final victory saw the Indian duo regain the Super 750 tournament title and also win their first crown of the season after reaching the summit clash for the third time in 2024.
Satwik-Chirag had finished runners up at Malaysia Open Super 1000 and India Open Super 750 earlier this year, while they had also lost the final at China Masters Super 750 last year.
Satwik and Chirag proved third time lucky and their stellar show this week only reconfirmed chief coach Pullela Gopichand's assertion that the duo will be the favourites to win Paris Olympics gold.
Earlier in the semi-final, Rankireddy and Chirag had seen off the current world champions Kang Min-hyuk and Seo Seung-jae of South Korea by straight games 21-13, 21-16 to reach their third French Open final.
The Indian duo along with several other top shuttlers from the country like PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, and the women's doubles pair of Treesa Joly and Gayatri Gopichand will be in action at the All England Open Badminton Championships 2024, starting Tuesday (March 12).
