Indian shuttlers will return to action as BWF World Tour resumes with the European Leg, starting with the German Open 2024, scheduled to take place at the Westenergie Sporthalle in Mulheim, Germany.
The German Open 2024, officially known as Yonnex German Open 2024, will be the fifth event of the 2024 BWF World Tour and the 65th edition of the tournament overall.

The BWF Super 300 event will start with the qualifying and first round matches on February 27 followed by second round, quarterfinals, semifinal on subsequent days, and the tournament will conclude with the finals on Sunday (March 3).
A total of 80 singles players and 103 doubles teams from across the globe, including 4 singles and 4 doubles teams from India will be among the players in action in Mulheim during the week.
While the top Indian shuttlers give the event a miss, the likes of Sankar Subramanian, Akarshi Kashyap, Tanya Hemanth, Satish Kumar Karunakaran, will represent the country in singles at the badminton tournament.
Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, fresh from their Asia Team Championship gold, will spearhead the Indian doubles challenge. Here is all you need to know about German Open 2024 from dates, Indian draw, results, telecast and live streaming information:
Qualification: Only S Sankar Muthusamy Subramanian represents India in the men's singles qualification round. He will face Germany's Kai Schaeffer in the first round, and if successful, he will then face the winner of Luis Enrique Penalver vs Tobias Kuenzi.
Indian men's singles main draw: Satish Kumar Karunakaran is the lone Indian in the main draw. He will face Israel's Misha Zilberman in the opening round. He could also be joined by Sankar Subramanian from the qualifiers.
Indian women's singles main draw: Akarshi Kashyap and Tanya Hemanth are the two Indians entering the main draw. Tanya will face third seed Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand, while Akarshi will face a qualifier.
Indian women's doubles main draw: Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand and Rutaparna Panda-Swetaparna Panda are the two doubles teams from the country to enter the main draw.
Indian mixed doubles main draw: There were two teams from India that in the main draw of the mixed doubles category at the German Open this year, but both teams lost in the opening round to make an early exit.
There is no telecast on a TV channel for the event in India till the semi-final, but fans can live stream the matches via BWF's Official YouTube channel BWF TV. From the semifinal date (Saturday, March 2), the matches will be shown on Sports 18-1 and JioCinema.
