India's top doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and the country's top-ranked men's singles star HS Prannoy will be in India Open 2024 quarter-final action on Friday (January 19) at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
Second seeds Satwik-Chirag eased past Chinese Taipei duo of Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han by straight games 21-14, 21-15 in the men's doubles second round match. They will now face fifth seeds Kim Astrup and Anders Rasmussen of Denmark in the quarter-final.

This will be Rankireddy and Shetty's ninth meeting as a pair against the Danish pair, who hold a 6-2 record against Indian duo. In the most recent meeting, Astrup-Rasmussen duo defeated Satwik-Chirag by straight games 21-18, 21-19 in the BWF World Championships 2023 quarter-final.
Eight seeded Prannoy, meanwhile, registered a stunning come back win over compatriot Priyanshu Rajawat by a scoreline of 20-22, 21-14, 21-14 in the men's singles second round match. Prannoy will now face a Chinese Taipei shuttler in the quarter-final.
The Asian Games bronze medallist from India will go up against Tzu Wei Wang in the last eight match. This will be his ninth meeting with the Chinese Taipei shuttler, against whom he holds 5-3 record in the head to head battles with the most recent win coming in last year's All England Open.
