India's Priyanshu Rajawat put up a valiant fight against sixth seed Kodai Naraoka of Japan. Rajawat saved a match point in the second game and forced a decider but ultimately fell 21-16, 20-22, 21-13 in a grueling 82-minute match. Naraoka's experience and composure proved decisive in the end.
HS Prannoy's return from injury was short-lived, as he lost to Taiwan's Su Li Yang 16-21, 21-18, 21-12. Prannoy struggled to maintain intensity in the final game, allowing Su to close the match comfortably.
World No. 2 Jonatan Christie of Indonesia had a smooth start, defeating Taiwan's Wang Tzu Wei 21-18, 21-15. Singapore's Loh Kean Yew also progressed, edging past Chia Hao Lee 21-15, 22-20.
In women's doubles, Indian pairs Rutuparna Panda/Swetaparna Panda and Ashwini Ponnappa/Tanisha Crasto moved to the next round with contrasting victories. The Panda sisters defeated Thailand's Phattarin Aiamvareesrisakul and Sarisa Janpeng 7-21, 21-19, 21-14, while Ashwini and Tanisha outclassed Kavya Gupta and Radhika Sharma 21-11, 21-12.
