Star Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will lock horns with Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin in the men's doubles semi-final of the India Open 2025 badminton tournament.
The seventh seeded Indian duo eased past Korean pair Jin Yong and Kang Min-hyuk by a scoreline of 21-10, 21-17 in the quarterfinal on Friday (January 17) to book their last four spot.

Earlier, the Indian pair fought back from a game down to oust Japanese pair Kenya Mitsuhashi and Hiroki Okamura in the second round before avoiding another close call against another Malaysian pair of Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun in the opening round.
Third seeded Nur-Goh pair, on the other hand, defeated Chinese Taipei’s Lee Fang-chih and Lee Fang-jen by straight games 21-11, 21-17 to seal their semi-final meeting with Rankireddy and Shetty.
The Malaysian duo had earlier battled past their compatriots Yap Roy King and Junaidi Arif in the second round after easing past German pair Daniel Hess and Marvin Emil Seidel in the opener of the India Open Super 750 tournament.
This will be the fourth meeting between the two pairs in the last six years with the Indian duo of Rankireddy and Shetty holding a 2-1 record against the Malaysian duo. As the two teams face-off, here is a look at the India Open 2025 Semi-Final details:
The India Open 2025 is being played at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India from January 14 with the semi-final scheduled to be staged on Saturday (January 18) on the main court.
The India Open badminton tournament semifinal round starts at 12 PM IST (Local Time). Satwik-Chirag next match will take place in the evening on Saturday, January 18.
The men's doubles semi-finals is scheduled as match 8 in the order of play after the women’s singles semifinal between Korea’s An Se Young and Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. So, the match should approximately start after 7:15 PM IST.
