
The Indian team will lock horns with Hong Kong in the quarterfinal of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship 2023 at the at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Dubai, UAE.
Team India finished top of Group B after a 4-1 win over Malaysia in the final group stage match to book their last 8 meeting against Hong Kong, who finished second in Group D.
Before the Malaysia clash, the Indian team had beaten Kazakhstan and tournament hosts UAE 5-0. Hong Kong, meanwhile, beat Chinese Taipei 3-2 followed by 1-4 defeat to Japan and rounded off their group stage with a 5-0 victory over Pakistan.
This is the second time that India has qualified for QFs in three editions of the championships. They were knocked out of group stages back in 2019 and were beaten 3-2 by Thailand in the quarterfinals of the inaugural edition of the tournament back in 2017.
