The first day of the Indonesia Open 2023 saw Indian shuttlers P.V. Sindhu and H.S. Prannoy win their Round of 32 fixtures to progress further in the competition.
Two of India's prominent shuttlers Srikanth Kidambi and Lakshya Sen will be taking centre stage on Wednesday as they aim to replicate the performance of their senior counterparts.

Sindhu beat world No. 9 Gregoria Tunjung (21-19, 21-15) and will next meet world No. 3 Tai Tzu Ying (Chinese Taipei) in the Round of 16. H.S. Prannoy coolly dispatched world No. 12 Kenta Nishimoto (Japan) 21-16, 21-14 to advance to the Round of 16 match against Angus K.L. NG (Hong Kong).
In Men's doubles, the Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced to the next round after opponents, Christo Popov and Tomo Junior Popov from France (21-12, 11-7) conceded the match due to injury in the second game.
Lakshya Sen will face world No. 11 Lee Zii Jia (Malaysia) while Srikanth Kidambi will face Lu Guanug Zu (China) in their opening fixtures on Wednesday. Priyanshu Rajawat will have a tall task ahead of him in his Round of 32 matchup against world No. 3 Kunlavut Vitidsarn (Thailand) in the Men's singles. Meanwhile, Aakarshi Kashyap will be up against world No. 2 Se Young An (South Korea).
