Junior state badminton from tomorrow

Lucknow, Sep 10 (UNI) The 8th Jugal Kishore State Junior Badminton championship will start here tomorrow at the K D Singh Babu Stadium.

The championship organiser Lucknow Badminton Association president Vijay Sinha informed that over 150 players from several districts would participate in the three-day championship, which would be played on the New scoring system of 21 points and the cash prizes would be given upto the losing quarter finalists.

The teams for the East Zone Inter State Badminton Championship to be held at Kolkata from September 29 to October 1 would be selected on the basis of performance in this championship.

DGP Vikran Singh and Principal Secretary to the Governor G B Patnaik will jointly inaugurate the tournament, while the chief guest of the closing ceremony will be 1966 Junior badminton champion Rajesh Dhingra, chief Commissioner, customs and central excise, UP and Bihar on Sepetember 13.
