Hyderabad, Aug 7: Jwala Gutta, who won Silver medal in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2014 in Glasgow, slammed Saina Nehwal.

Expressing her disappointment, Saina recently tweeted about cash reward which was announced for her by Andhra Pradesh government.



Tweeting through her personal account of micro-blogging site Twitter, Saina wrote that she was disappointed for not receiving her cash award from the government for winning the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

The state government had announced to give Rs 50 lakh. However, she was not given the money by the state government.

Commenting on Saina's statement, Jwala said, "I don`t know how to react on it. Saina is a big name. I am sure if she would have personally met the chief minister or the ministers, they would have helped her."

During an interview with Zee News, Jwala added, "My stand on matters related to money is a little different. I wouldn`t react publicly in such a manner. If I have any such issues, I would personally meet and get it resolved. To talk about the issue publicly isn`t right."

However, expressing her disappointment with the authority, Jwala said, "I need not speak about it as it has been the case for quite some time now. After winning the 2010 Commonwealth Games, I thought that things might change."

"I have seen that the media takes a lot of interest in our performances and results. In spite of giving world class performance, we still face a lot of problems in terms of sponsorships and endorsements," she added.
