Former India badminton player Jwala Gutta is winning hearts across the country for her remarkable and selfless gesture, donating 6.7 litres of breast milk to support newborns at Niloufer Children's Hospital in Hyderabad.
Social media is flooded with praise for Gutta, with fans commending her action as truly inspiring.

Messages like "Well done, Gutta Jwala" have gone viral, hailing her as a role model for women and celebrities alike. In a time when many shy away from motherhood due to concerns over physical appearance, Gutta has boldly broken stereotypes.
Her donation, made through Dhaatri Mother's Milk Bank, is helping nourish premature and critically ill babies at the hospital. The milk bank ensures that the donated milk reaches infants in need, especially those whose mothers are unable to feed them due to health complications.
What sets Gutta’s act apart is the humility and intention behind it. At a time when some celebrities opt for surrogacy and nannies to maintain their appearance and lifestyle, Jwala’s decision to donate excess milk speaks volumes about her character and empathy.
Many netizens have expressed that her deed has the power to change mindsets and promote awareness about the importance of breast milk donation.
Gutta, who married Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal, welcomed a baby girl in April 2025. The couple’s love story began at Vishnu’s sister’s Sangeet ceremony and blossomed into a strong relationship.
Earlier in her life, Jwala was married to fellow shuttler Chetan Anand in 2005. However, the couple parted ways in 2011. Vishnu, too, was previously married to costume designer Rajini Natraj, with whom he has a son, Aryan.
Jwala is one of India's most accomplished badminton players, particularly known for her success in doubles. She won a gold medal in women's doubles at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and followed it up with a silver in 2014. She also earned bronze medals in the mixed team events at the 2006 and 2014 editions of the Games.
Partnering with Ashwini Ponnappa, Jwala secured a bronze at the 2014 Asian Badminton Championships and reached the quarterfinals at the 2011 BWF World Championships - a rare achievement for an Indian women's doubles pair at the time.
She also represented India at the 2012 London Olympics. Over her career, Jwala won four BWF Grand Prix titles in both women's and mixed doubles categories, often pairing with Ashwini Ponnappa and V. Diju.
On the national stage, she dominated with 14 titles in women's doubles and several more in mixed doubles. Her contributions to Indian badminton were recognised with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2011.
