Badminton: Kashyap enters last 16

London, Jul 31: India's P Kashyap has entered the pre-quarterfinals in badminton men's singles after winning against Nguyen Tien Minh of Vietnam at the London Olympics 2012 here on Tuesday.

Kashyap won the first game 21-9 in 16 minutes. And later added the second 21-14. It took him 35 minutes to finish the game. The world number 21 will have to wait for some time before he knows who he plays in the pre-quarterfinals.

The 25-year-old remained unbeaten in Group D with two wins. He topped the group and progressed to the knockout stage.

Earlier update

Kashyap had won his first match against Tan Yuhan of Belgium and is looking forward to clinch another victory at the Wembley Arena.

The player from Hyderabad is facing his opponent on Court 1.

From the group stage, 16 shuttlers will progress to the knockout phase.
