India's top women's singles shuttler PV Sindhu will lock horns with Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the Malaysia Masters 2024 semi-final on Saturday (May 25) at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Fifth seed Sindhu overcame the top seed Han Yue of China by a scoreline of 21-13, 14-21, 21-12 in the women's singles quarter-final to reach the last four. The two-time Olympic medallist, however, had to survive a scare against Korea's Sim Yu Jin in the second round.

The Paris Olympics-bound Indian shuttler registered a hard-fought win against the Korean by a scoreline of 21-13, 12-21, 21-14 in the round of 16. In the tournament opener, she claimed a straight games 21-16, 21-17 win over Scotland's Kirsty Gilmour.

The Thai shuttler, on the other hand, secured a hard-fought 21-12, 21-23, 21-16 win over Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia in the last eight round. Before that, she had got past Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark and Goh Jin Wei of Malaysia.
