Star Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will lock horns with Malaysia's Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi in the men's doubles quarter-final of the Malaysia Open 2025 badminton tournament.
The seventh seeded Indian duo defeated another Malaysian duo of Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub and Tan Wee Kiong by a scoreline of 21-15, 21-15 in the second round on Thursday (January 9) to book their last eight spot.

Earlier, Satwik-Chirag, who are finalists at the Malaysia Open last year, had overcome Chinese Taipei pair Lu Ming-che and Tang Kai-wei in three games by a scoreline of 21-10, 16-21, 21-5 in the opening round.
Yew Sin-Ee Yi, on the other hand, registered a hard fought 23-21, 16-21, 21-18 win over Korean duo of Jin Yong and Kang Min-hyuk in the pre-quarterfinals of the men's doubles competition.
The Malaysian pair had earlier fought back from a game down to get past fourth seeded Indonesian pair of Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, securing a 15-21, 21-17, 21-13 win in the opener of the Malaysia Open Super 1000 tournament.
Yew Sin and Ee Yi, however, will be wary of their recent record against Rankireddy and Shetty as the Indian pair hold an overall 4-3 record against the Malaysian duo in BWF ranking tournaments. As the two teams face-off, here is a look at the Malaysia Open 2025 Quarter-final details:
