"I never thought I would be participating in three Olympics. When I started playing, I didn't even think I would play one Olympics," world number 5 Saina said on Thursday as she was honoured by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL).

The 26-year-old Saina made her Olympics debut in China in 2008. She reached the quarter-finals of women's singles, losing a three-game thriller to Maria Kristin Yulianti.

"It will not be easy in Rio. I will try my best to better my bronze effort in London (Games)," the Hyderabadi added.

Hyundai handed over the 1st anniversary edition of Creta SUV to Saina for winning the Australian Open title this year.

"It is an honour and wonderful experience for me and I would like to thank Hyundai for honouring me with the 1st Anniversay Edition of Creta. It's motivation for every athlete to receive the recognition for his/her hard work and achievements. I am quite confident and will give my best efforts in upcoming tournaments to bring pride to my nation," Saina said after the honour.

Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited, YK Koo, said, "Ms Saina is badminton icon of India. Her consistent performance has elevated this sport's enthusiasam to a great level of admiration among the badminton lovers globally."
