Newsmakers 2017: Badminton: PV Sindhu

The Indian's dream run started last year in Rio Olympics.

PV Sindhu

PV Sindhu has been in sensational form in the current year and is one of the best shuttlers in the world right now.

And the Indian's dream run started last year in Rio Olympics. The shuttler avenged her Olympics final loss as she defeated Carolina Marin at the Indian Open final in 2017 to emerge champion and set the ball rolling.

The World No. 3 then went on to reach the final of the BWF World Championship, before losing to Nozomi Okuhara. But once again Sindhu avenged her loss at the Korea Open Super Series, where the Indian shuttler ousted Okuhara to lift the title.

The Hyderabadi then went on the clinch silver in her maiden Dubai Super Series Final to cap of a glorious year. But as Sindhu steps into 2018, the Indian will look to break the jinx which has not seen her clinch gold at the major events.

Sindhu settled for silver in the Rio Olympics, World Championship and Super Series Final, something the Indian would like to change in the upcoming year.
