China (2 golds and 3 silvers)

China once again demonstrated their strength in badminton, securing a total of five medals-two golds and three silvers. Their dominance was particularly evident in the women's doubles event, where they claimed both the gold and silver medals. The duo of Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan clinched the gold, while their compatriots Tan Ning and Liu Shengshu settled for silver.

In the women's singles, He Bingjiao added to China's medal haul with a silver. Despite losing in the finals, He Bingjiao won hearts worldwide by honoring Spain's Carolina Marin, who had to withdraw due to an injury sustained in the semifinals against He. This act of sportsmanship was a poignant moment in the competition.

China also secured a silver in the men's doubles, with Wang Chang and Liang Weikeng putting up a strong fight in the finals. Additionally, the mixed doubles duo of Huang Yaqiong and Zheng Siwei added another gold to China's tally, showcasing their versatility across different categories.

South Korea (1 gold and 1 silver)

South Korea also had a successful run in the badminton events, securing a gold and a silver. The highlight for South Korea was An Se-young's remarkable performance in the women's singles, where she clinched the gold medal. An's victory marked a significant achievement for South Korea, emphasizing their growing stature in the sport.

In the mixed doubles, the pair of Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun won the silver medal. Their performance was commendable, as they fought fiercely throughout the tournament, only falling short in the finals.

Denmark (1 gold)

Denmark's sole medal in badminton came from Viktor Axelsen, who successfully defended his Olympic title in the men's singles. Axelsen, who won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, once again proved his dominance by securing the top spot on the podium in Paris. His consistent performance solidified Denmark's reputation as a powerhouse in men's singles badminton.

Chinese Taipei (1 gold)

Chinese Taipei's only medal in badminton at the Paris Olympics 2024 was a gold in the men's doubles. The duo of Wang Chi-lin and Lee Yang delivered an outstanding performance to claim the top prize, further establishing Chinese Taipei as a strong competitor in the doubles category.

Thailand's badminton success at the Paris Olympics 2024 came in the form of a silver medal in the men's singles, courtesy of Kunlavut Vitidsarn. Vitidsarn showed great potential and resilience throughout the tournament but was ultimately defeated by Viktor Axelsen in the finals.

India at Badminton at the Paris Olympics 2024

India entered the badminton events at the Paris Olympics 2024 with high hopes, especially with the likes of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the men's doubles. However, their journey was cut short in the quarterfinals, where they were defeated by Malaysia's Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.

PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, also had a challenging campaign, losing to China's He Bingjiao in the Round of 16 in women's singles. The women's doubles team of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto bowed out in the group stages.

HS Prannoy faced a tough draw and was eliminated in the Round of 16 after a closely contested match against his fellow Indian, Lakshya Sen.

Sen emerged as one of India's strongest contenders in the men's singles. He displayed remarkable skill and determination, even leading in his semifinal match against Viktor Axelsen.

However, Sen was unable to maintain his advantage and ultimately lost to Axelsen. In the bronze medal match, he was defeated by Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia despite winning the first game.
