PV Sindhu Clinches Second BWF Title Of 2026 With Dominant Hylo Open Triumph
PV Sindhu continued her impressive run on the international badminton circuit by capturing the Hylo Open title in Germany on Sunday.
The Indian star produced a commanding performance against Denmark's Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt, registering a convincing 21-12, 21-14 victory in the women's singles final at Saarbrücken.

The triumph marked Sindhu's second BWF title of the season, following her historic success at the Japan Open in July. That victory saw the two-time Olympic medallist become the first Indian to win the prestigious BWF Super 750 tournament.
Sindhu arrived in Germany with plenty of confidence after finishing runner-up at the French Open in Paris the previous week. She carried that momentum into the $500,000 BWF Super 500 competition, winning every match without dropping a single game throughout the tournament.
The 31-year-old made an assured start to the final, putting Kjaersfeldt under pressure with her attacking strokes and court coverage. Although the Danish shuttler attempted to stretch Sindhu across the court, a series of unforced errors prevented her from building any real momentum.
Sindhu established an 11-8 advantage at the first interval and maintained control after the restart. Kjaersfeldt attempted to increase the intensity and target the Indian's backhand, but Sindhu remained composed and comfortably wrapped up the opening game 21-12.
The second game initially witnessed a closely contested battle, with both players level at 2-2. However, Sindhu soon shifted gears, creating a three-point cushion and forcing her opponent to take greater risks.
The Indian maintained her advantage and went into the mid-game interval with an 11-7 lead. Kjaersfeldt tried to accelerate the rallies by playing flatter shots, but Sindhu's consistency and attacking quality continued to make the difference.
Despite a few errors under pressure, Sindhu never allowed the Danish shuttler to take control. She eventually capitalised on another mistake from Kjaersfeldt to seal the game 21-14 and secure the championship.
Celebrating the victory with a clenched fist, Sindhu added another significant achievement to her remarkable badminton career.
The Hylo Open crown also strengthens her prospects of qualifying for the BWF World Tour Finals in December. With two titles already secured this season and consistent performances at major tournaments, the Indian star has given herself a strong platform heading into the final stretch of the campaign.
