Madrid, April 2: India's PV Sindhu will take on Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the women's singles final in the Madrid Spain Masters 2023 at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur on Sunday (April 2).
The 2022 Commonwealth Games champion Sindhu booked her final berth after hard-fought straight games win against Singapore's Yeo Jia Min. Second-seeded Sindhu defeated the unseeded Singaporean 24-22, 22-20 in the semi-final that lasted for 48 minutes.

In the earlier rounds, the two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu eased past Switzerland's Jenjira Sadelmann (21-10, 21-14), Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia (21-14, 21-16) and Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark (21-14, 21-17) in straight games.
Gregoria Mariska, on the other hand, came from a game down to oust three-time World Champion Carolina Marin of Spain to reach the final. The Indonesian shuttler defeated the Spaniard 10-21, 21 15, 21-10 in a semifinal match that lasted for an hour.
In the earlier rounds, the fifth-seeded Indonesian beat Kirsty Gilmour of Scotland in straight games 21-19, 21-12 before a comeback win over South Korea's Kim Ga Eun by a scoreline of 12-21, 21-14, 23-21 and followed that with a 21-10, 21-17 win over Dane Line Christophersen.
Now, Sindhu will face an opponent she has had much success against in the form of Gregoria Mariska. The Indian has got the better of her Indonesian attempt in six of the six previous attempts.
