Madrid, April 1: India's PV Sindhu will take on Singapore'sYeo Jia Min in the women's singles semi-final of the Madrid Spain Masters 2023 at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur in Madrid, Spain on Saturday (April 1).
The two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu booked her semi-final berth following a straight games win against Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark. Second-seeded Sindhu defeated the unseeded Dane 21-14, 21-17 in the quarter-final that laster for 40 minutes.
In the earlier rounds, the Commonwealth Games 2022 gold medallist Sindhu eased past Switzerland's Jenjira Sadelmann (21-10, 21-14) and Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia (21-14, 21-16) in straight games.
Jia Min, on the other hand, reached the semi-finals with a straight games win against eighth-seeded Beiwen Zhang of USA. The Singaporean shuttler eased past her superior American opponent 21-16, 21-14 in the last 8 match that lasted for 32 minutes.
