Saina enters World Super Series semi-finals

Malaysia, Dec 4: India's Saina Nehwal stormed into the semi-finals of the World Super Series Masters Final, after beating Porntip Buranaprasertsuk 21-13, 21-19 on Friday, Dec 4.

The Indian who is world number eight, defeated her Thai opponent in a half hour match to join Malaysia's Mew Choo Wong, the other semi-finalist from Group A.

Starting off her journey on a bad note, Saina had lost to Wong in the first match of the tournament.

However, the youngster from Hyderabad rose above the bad start and took control claiming two straight wins against Canadian Charmaine Reid, on Thursday, Dec 3 and Prontip on Friday, Dec 4 to emerge as one of the top two players in Group A.
