Lucknow, Jan 25: Defending champion Saina Nehwal defeated reigning world champion Carolina Marin of Spain in the final to lift the women's singles title once again at the $120,000 Syed Modi International Badminton Championships here Sunday.

Saina Nehwal beats world champion, wins Syed Modi title

The Indian won the summit clash 19-21, 25-23, 21-16 in one hour and 19 minutes at the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium here.
