Saina takes India's gold medal tally to 38

New Delhi, Oct 14: Badminton ace and world number 3, Saina Nehwal powered India to second position after winning gold in the women's singles event on Thursday, Oct 14.

Saina beat Mew Choo Wong of Malaysia with the points 21-19, 23-21, 21-13 at the Siri Fort Complex.

With the win, world number three Saina became the nation's first woman shuttler to win a Commonwealth Games gold.

Earlier Saina had beaten Wong at the Asian Championship in Apr 2010, Indian Open final in Jun, Singapore Superseries in first round in Jun and at the team event of the Commonwealth Games, and again repeated her feat in the final.
