By Biswajeet Panda
London, Aug 11: Not everything is grim for Indian sport in England. As the Indian cricket team's struggle with English fast bowlers continued, ace shuttler Saina Nehwal kept the country's sporting flag flying high by moving into the third round of the World Badminton Championship.

In the second round of the Women's segment of the event, Nehwal beat Chloe Magee of Ireland 21-10, 21-7 in just a little over 26 minutes. It can be recollected that she got bye in the first round of the tournament.

She will now take on 14th seed Pui Yin Yip of Chinese Taipei in the third round of the tournament. Yip, moved into the third round by beating Li Michelle of Canada 23-21, 17-21, 21-17.

However, Saina enjoys a psychological advantage against the Taipei player whom she has beaten twice in three meetings.

Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles category, Jwala Gutta and V Diju, seeded 16th, also moved into the third round, beating the Malaysian pair of Jien Guo Ong and Sook Chin Chong 21-11, 21-15. They now have to face the fifth seeded pair of Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen from England.

In the second round of the men's singles segment, Parupalli Kashyap will take on Vietnam's Tien Minh Nguyen.
