Saina Nehwal leaps into top-five world ranking

New Delhi, Mar 18: With her brilliant performance in All England Badminton Championships, Saina Nehwal took Indian badminton to new heights by breaking into the top-five of the world rankings.

Saina made it to the fifth spot by jumping one rank ahead of her 2009's sixth spot.

Earlier this month, the Hyderabad girl shocked the world when she reached the semi-finals of England Open.

Even though she lost to Netherlands' Tine Rasmussen in the tournament, Saina pocketed points taking her tally to 58516.7646 points, which helped her climb this platform.

The remaining top-four spots have been occupied by Chinese players with Yihan Wang on the top. Wang Lin, Xin Wang and Jiang Yanjiao have claimed the second, third and fourth spot.
