Saina receives magnificent welcome in Hyderabad

By Super Admin

Hyderabad, June 29(ANI): Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal on Tuesday received an outstanding welcome when she arrived in her hometown Hyderabad after winning three Super Series titles in a row.

Addressing a press conference, Nehwal said that she was confident about winning all the tournaments, especially Indonesian Open.

"I enjoyed the three tournaments, played extremely well. I enjoyed every match, and all of the three matches were amazing, a little bit tiring but I was confident that I can do it. And I think, finally, I am really happy that I got three titles in a row," Nehwal said.

Nehwal further said that she is looking forward to playing in the forthcoming tournaments, which include the World Championship, the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.

"First of all, I want to win...I want to work hard but I also want to win the tournament so I am not really going to push myself to be the number one so fast. I just want to work even more harder and win the major events. This year there are three big tournaments," Nehwal said.

She also said that she feels happy about securing the third spot in world ranking.

"I am quite happy that I have reached the number three spot but it's important for me to work hard and to win the tournament that has...on the rankings, because if you play very low you go down. For me it is important that I win tournaments," she added.

Nehwal defeated Japan's Sayaki Sato 21-19, 13-21, 21-11 in the Indonesian Open final held at Jakarta on Sunday.

Presently ranked third in the world, she had earlier won the Indian Open Grand Prix and the Singapore Open Super Series. (ANI)
