Satwik-Chirag Storm Into China Masters Semifinals After Thrilling Win
India's doubles stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty battled past Denmark's Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen to book their place in the semifinals of the China Masters Super 750 on Friday.
The Indian duo secured a hard-fought 21-13, 16-21, 21-18 victory in a contest that lasted three games. Satwik and Chirag started strongly, taking the opening game comfortably, but the Danish pair fought back in the second to force a decider.

With the match finely poised, the Indians held their composure in the deciding game and produced the crucial points at the right moments to complete the victory.
The result extends Satwik and Chirag's remarkable record at the China Masters. The Indian pair have now reached the semifinals in every edition since 2019. They finished runners-up at the tournament in 2023 and 2025, underlining their consistency at the prestigious event.
Friday's victory was also the duo's second win over Astrup and Rasmussen at the China Masters. Their previous victory against the Danish combination came in the 2024 quarterfinals.
While Satwik and Chirag continued their impressive campaign, Kidambi Srikanth bowed out of the tournament in the men's singles quarterfinals. The Indian shuttler was beaten by Lee Cheuk Yiu of Hong Kong China 16-21, 16-21.
