Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty vs Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik Head-to-Head Record Ahead of Paris Olympics 2024 Quarter-Final

India's top doubles shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will look to keep their Olympic medal quest alive when they face Tokyo 2020 bronze medallists Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia in the men's doubles quarterfinals at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday (August 1).

The former world number one pair of Satwik-Chirag won both their matches to top Group C, while the Malaysian pair had finished in the second spot in Group A behind China's world number one Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang.

A win over the Malaysian duo is likely to pit the Indians up against top seeds Liang and Wang, who are set to take on Indonesian pair of Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto in another quarterfinals.

Satwik-Chirag vs Chia-Wooi Yik Head to Head record

The Malaysian duo of Chia and Soh once had an overwhelming 8-0 head-to-head record against Satwik and Chirag, but the Indians have managed to cut down the deficit after they registered three straight-game wins over their fancied rivals in the recent three meetings.

After suffering many a heartbreaks against their opponents, Satwik and Chirag finally defeated Chia and Soh, the 2022 world champions, at the Indonesia Open super 1000 final last year. The Indians followed it up with victories at the 2022 Asian Games individual event and then at the India Open in January this year.

2024 India Open: Satwik and Chirag got the better of the Aaron and Soh in the semi-final by straight games 21-18, 21-14 in a match that last 45 minutes to reach the final, where they eventually lost to Korean pair Kang Min-hyuk and Seo Seung-jae.

2023 Asian Games: The Indian pair once again registered a straight games 21-17, 21-12 win in the semi-finals to oust the Malaysian pair and followed that with another impressive win over Korean pair Choi Sol-gyu and Kim Won-ho to clinch a history-making Asian Games gold medal.

2023 Indonesia Open: Satwik-Chirag registered their first win over the Malaysian pair after going winless in their previous eight encounters. The Indian duo had registered a straight games 21-17, 21-18 win in the Indonesia Open final. Before that it was all Chia and Soh. Here is a look at their head to head results:
