Top singles shuttlers PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen will spearhead India's challenge in the 2025 Sudirman Cup badminton tournament, which takes place from April 27 to May 4 at the Fenghuang Gymnasium in Xiamen, China.

The Sudirman Cup, organised by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), is a biennial international mixed team badminton tournament, which is into it's nineteenth edition with India's best finishes coming in 2011 and 2017, when they reached the quarter-final stage.

Sudirman Cup 2025 - All You Need to Know

In Sudirman Cup, each tie consists of five matches - men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles with all 5 matches compulsorily played in the group stage for recording of points, while the knock out stage will be contested as a best of three.

Apart from Sindhu and Sen, 20-year-old Anupama Upadhyaya and the experienced HS Prannoy will also be part of the women's and men's singles contingent for India, who will miss the services of top men's doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who pulled out due to fitness concerns.

In Satwik-Chirag absence, Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi will get their chance to showcase their tandem skills, while Tanisha Crasto and Priya Konjengbam will form the women's doubles pair, and finally Dhruv Kapila-Shruti Mishra and Sathish Kumar-Aadya Variyath will form the mixed doubles.

India will open their campaign against Denmark on April 27 before they take on Indonesia on April 29, and face England in their final group stage tie on May 1. If qualified, India will play their knockout games from May 2-4. Here is a look at the schedule:
