Team India defeated by Malaysia in the quarterfinals of the Badminton World Junior Championships

At the Badminton World Junior Championships quarterfinal matchup in Spokane, USA, early on Friday, Team India was defeated 0-3 by a strong Malaysian team.

In the mixed doubles division, Bryan Jeremy Goonting and Chan Wen Tse defeated Sathwik Reddy Kanapuram and Vaishnavi Khadkekar in the opening round 12-21, 16-21, despite the duo's gallant efforts.

Ayush Shetty

In the boys' singles match, Ayush Shetty made an incredible comeback to keep the team's hopes alive. He won the second game 21-16 after dropping the opening game 18-21, but fell against Eogene Ewe in the decider 16-21.

Devika Sihag demonstrated her talent by winning the first game of the ladies' singles match with a score of 21-18. Unfortunately, she was unable to keep up the pace and lost the following two games to Malaysian Ong Xin Yee, 16-21 and 14-21.

The following game featured Team India against Japan in the semifinals for a spot between fifth and sixth in the competition.

Although giving their all in the mixed doubles match against Daigo Tanioaka and Maya Taguchi of Japan, Samarveer and Radhika Sharma lost 15-21, 18-21.

Lokesh Reddy Kalagotla lost to Yuna Nakagawa of Japan after a closely contested match (14-21, 20-22).

Unnati Hooda

Unnati Hooda battled hard but narrowly fell short against Mihane Endo of Japan, losing 21-15, 19-21, and 19-21.

Tomorrow's last round of the mixed team competition will pit India against Thailand to determine who finishes seventh and eighth.
