The Paris Olympics are upon us, and India's athletes are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for glory. With full government backing, a meticulous approach is being implemented to empower potential medal winners.
This support system goes beyond just words, encompassing everything from acquiring specialized equipment to organizing high-calibre training programs abroad. These initiatives are a testament to India's growing commitment to achieving excellence in the international sporting arena.

Leading the charge is badminton stalwart PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist with her sights set firmly on a historic third medal.
Since mid-June, Sindhu has been diligently training in Germany, surrounded by a team of twelve dedicated individuals. This comprehensive support structure highlights India's unwavering dedication to nurturing athletic talent.
Her team in Germany boasts an impressive lineup: her esteemed mentor Prakash Padukone, a chief coach, two assistant coaches to provide constant technical guidance, a dedicated mental strength and conditioning coach to ensure peak performance under pressure, and a team of five sparring partners who push Sindhu to her limits during training sessions.
This well-rounded team ensures that Sindhu has everything she needs to refine her skills and approach the Olympics with peak physical and mental fitness.
A World-Renowned Training Ground
The training base for this rigorous preparation is the renowned Hermann-Neuberger Sportschule in Saarbrucken, Germany.
Here, Sindhu is putting the finishing touches on her game, ready to take on the best in the world for the third time in her illustrious career.
At the Rio Olympics in 2016, she secured a silver medal, followed by a bronze at the Tokyo Games in 2020. This time around, her sights will undoubtedly be set on the coveted gold.
Strength in Numbers: India's Badminton Contingent
India's badminton prowess isn't limited to Sindhu. The Badminton World Federation's 'Race to Paris' Ranking List awarded India five coveted spots for the upcoming Olympics, with Sindhu holding the 12th position.
Recognizing her potential and the significance of the event, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports' Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) readily approved Sindhu's proposal for training in Europe ahead of the Paris Games.
The ministry has cast a wide net, setting an ambitious target of approximately 10 medals across various sporting disciplines. To achieve this goal, they have approved proposals encompassing a diverse range of needs. This includes customized training programs tailored to each athlete's strengths and weaknesses.
Moreover, specialised equipment like badminton shoes and high-performance glasses have been provided to enhance visual acuity, cutting-edge technology like high-speed cameras to analyze techniques, and even nutritional supplements to optimize physical conditioning.
