Indian women's doubles pairs Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand and Tanisha Crasto-Ashwini Ponnappa set up a second round meeting in the Thailand Masters 2024 following contrasting wins in their respective first round matches in Bangkok on Tuesday (January 30).
Jolly-Gopichand pair fought back from a game down to defeat Hong Kong's Lui Lok Lok and NG Wing Yung by a scoreline of 16-21, 21-10, 21-18 in the women's doubles first round match that lasted an hour and 14 minutes on court 2 at the Nimibutr Stadium.

The Commonweath Games 2022 bronze medallists will next face compartriots Crasto-Ponnappa, who registered a straight games win over Chinese Taipei pair of Hu Ling Fang and Lin Xiao Min by a scoreline of 21-13, 21-17 in 31 minutes on court 1.
Earlier on Tuesday (January 30), Ashith Surya & Amrutha Pramuthesh bowed out in the mixed doubles qualifiers, while Sameer Verma and Sankar Subramanian entered the main draw following wins in the men's singles qualification matches.
Surya and Pramuthesh, who won the first game, went down to Chinese Taipei's Po Li Wei and Chang Ching Hui after a 22-20, 13-21, 10-21 defeat in the mixed doubles qualifier that lasted 41 minutes on Court 3.
In the men's singles qualifier, Verma first defeated Howard Shu of Malaysia by a scoreline of 21-9, 21-16 before a come-from-behind win by a scoreline of 16-21, 21-16, 21-15 against Kuo Kuan Lin of Chinese Taipei in the second qualifying match.
Subramanian, meanwhile, first saw off Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia from a game down to beat him 9-21, 21-17, 21-12 in the first round of the qualifier before another three-game result against Korakrit Laotrakul of Thailand by a scoreline of 20-22, 21-10, 21-14.
Verma and Subramanian will now enter the main draw and will be in action on Wednesday (January 31) alongside the likes of Kidambi Srikanth, Kiran George, Mithun Manjunath, Malvika Bansod, Unnati Hooda and Imaad Farooqui Samiya, who will all open their campaigns in singles category.
