Bangkok, June 3: India's Lakshya Sen will take on second-seeded Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand in the Thailand Open 2023 men's singles semi-final at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday (June 3).
Sen progressed to the semi-final after straight games win against Leon Jun Hao of Malaysia in the quarterfinal on Friday (June 2). The Indian shuttler eased past the Malaysian by a scoreline of 21-19, 21-11 in the last 8 match that lasted for 41 minutes on Court 3.

In the earlier rounds, the shuttler from Almora beat Chinese Taipei's Wang Tzu Wei in a tightly contested opening round match that ended 23-21, 15-21, 21-15 before he breezed past fourth-seeded Li Shi Feng of China in straight games 21-17, 21-15 in the second round.
Vitidsarn, on the other hand, had to fight from a game down to get past China's Lu Guang Zu in the other quarter-final to reach semi-final. The Thai shuttler defeated the fifth-seeded Chinese opponent 18-21, 21-14, 21-11 in the last eight match that lasted for an hour and 13 minutes on Court 1.
Earlier, the second-seeded Thai came from a game down to get past Sen's compatriot Mithun Manjunath in the opening round match that ended 17-21, 21-8, 21-15 before another hard-fought come-from-behind win (16-21, 21-10, 22-20) over Indonesia's Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.
Now, Sen will face an opponent he has met seven time so far in the form of Kunlavut Vitidsarn. The Thai edges the Indian 4-3 in the head-to-head battles thanks to his three wins in the last four matches.
