Indian doubles shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and Ashwini Ponnappa-Tanisha Crasto will be in Thailand Open 2024 semi-final action on Saturday (May 18) at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Satwik-Chirag eased past the Malaysian duo of Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap by straight games 21-7, 21-14 in the men's doubles quarter-final match. They will now face the Chinese Taipei pair Lu Ming-Che and Tang Kai-Wei for the first time in their career in the semi-final.

Crasto-Ponnappa pair, meanwhile, registered a stunning three games 21-15, 21-23, 21-19 win over sixth seeds from South Korea - Lee Yu Lim & Shen Seung Chan in the women's doubles quarter-final match. They will now face the top seeds in the semi-final.
Crasto and Ponnappa will go up against Thailand's Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai, a pair, whom the Indian duo lost to in their only meeting that ended 21-5, 18-21, 21-11 in favour of the Thai pair earlier this year in the India Open 2024.
