India produced a dominant display to outclass Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the men's quarterfinals of the Thomas & Uber Cup 2026, storming into the semifinals and assuring themselves of a medal in Horsens, Denmark, on Friday (May 1).
The former champions, who last lifted the title in 2022, were clinical across all three matches as they brushed aside a higher-ranked Taipei side to stay firmly in contention for the title.

Lakshya Sen Sets the Tone with Gritty Win
Lakshya Sen gave India the perfect start with a hard-fought victory over Chou Tien Chen in the opening singles.
Sen, ranked world No. 6, came from behind and saved two match points in the second game to clinch a thrilling 18-21, 22-20, 21-17 win in a match that lasted over 90 minutes.
The contest lived up to expectations, with both players trading momentum. Chou recovered from a 10-15 deficit in the first game, while Sen showed remarkable composure to bounce back from 14-17 in the second and force a decider.
In the final game, Sen maintained control with aggressive play, ensuring India took a crucial 1-0 lead.

Satwik-Chirag Deliver Under Pressure
The experienced doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty extended India's advantage with a resilient performance.
Facing Chiu Hsiang Chieh and Wang Chi-Lin, the Indian duo saved two game points to edge the opening game 23-21.
Although they dropped the second game narrowly, Satwik and Chirag stepped up in the decider, dominating proceedings to seal a 23-21, 19-21, 21-12 win and give India a commanding 2-0 lead.

Ayush Shetty Seals Historic Semifinal Spot
With the tie on the line, young shuttler Ayush Shetty rose to the occasion in style. The 20-year-old, who had remained unbeaten in the group stage, defeated reigning All England champion Lin Chun-Yi 21-16, 21-17 in just 48 minutes to complete a clean sweep.
Shetty showed impressive composure, overturning a 10-12 deficit in the opening game by winning seven consecutive points before cruising through the second game with authority.
His performance underlined his rapid rise and growing importance in India's squad.
India Eye Final Spot
With this emphatic win, India advance to the semifinals and will now face the winner of the clash between Japan and France for a place in the final.
Having already secured a medal, the focus will now shift to maintaining momentum and pushing for another title-winning campaign.
