Chao Dong Biography

The athlete pursued Social Work Studies at Sichuan University. He speaks Mandarin and is right-handed. His family includes his wife Huang Xuemei, one son, and one daughter. His passion for sports was ignited by watching the Paralympic Games on television.

Career Highlights

One of his most memorable moments was being a torch bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing. He described the experience as emotional and proud. He had previously been selected to carry the Olympic torch in Sichuan for the 2008 Olympic Games but could not participate due to the Sichuan Earthquake.

In 2015, he was named an Elite Athlete of International Class by the General Administration of Sport of China. He has also received several prestigious medals, including the National May 1st Labour Medal, the National May 4th Youth Medal, and the Sichuan Province May 4th Youth Medal.
