12 wickets fall on 2nd day, Himachal tottering at 171 for 8

Dharamsala, Nov 4 (UNI) A fiery bowling display by A K Thakur helped Himachal Pradesh bundle out Saurashtra for a modest score of 291 runs on the second day of the four-day Group A Ranji Trophy Super League match here today.

On a day dominated by the bowlers, Saurashtra who continued from their overnight score of 262 for six, received an early jolt when V S Malik clean bowled Bambhaniya for 23 with the scoreboard reading 271.

Thakur then wrapped up the tail taking three wickets in the day, taking his overall tally to six wickets in 30.5 overs.

Himachal Pradesh did not have a good start and received an early setback when opener Manish Gupta was trapped leg before by Jobanputra for a duck with the team score at 12.

Sandeep Sharma(82) and Sangram Singh(50) then brought their team back on track with a solid partnership of 119 runs.

R V Druv then picked up three quick wickets to leave Himachal reeling at 157 for the loss of five wickets after Sangram was caught by Pujara off the bowling of K R Makwana.

Thereafter, Himachal lost wickets at regular intervals to finish the day at a score of 171 for eight.

A Mannu(13) and A K Thakur(0) were still at the crease during the draw of stumps.
