A total of 14 Pakistani cricketers are set to feature in the upcoming The Hundred men's auction, scheduled to take place on March 11 and 12 ahead of the 2026 season.

The longlist for the auction includes 247 players overall, with 63 players from Pakistan initially registering their names. From that pool, 14 players have made it into the final auction list.

Haris Rauf named in marquee category

Fast bowler Haris Rauf is the only Pakistani player to be placed in the Marquee Players International category.

Those players include Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Tariq, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Nawaz and Naseem Shah.

ECB clarification after franchise controversy

Pakistani players were recently at the centre of controversy following a BBC report claiming that the four Indian Premier League-linked franchises in The Hundred - Manchester Super Giants, MI London, Southern Brave and Sunrisers Leeds - might avoid signing Pakistani cricketers.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) later issued a clarification, stating that players from Pakistan would not face discrimination from any of the eight franchises in the competition.

Pakistan participation in The Hundred

Since the tournament began in 2021, nine Pakistani players have featured in The Hundred.

However, only two players - Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim - participated in the 2025 season.

With several high-profile names now in the 2026 auction pool, including Afridi, Shadab and Naseem, the upcoming draft could see a stronger Pakistani presence in the competition.
