3rd Test: I will be careful if I reach 90 again, says Ravindra Jadeja

"I took the risk against the legspinner (Adil Rashid). Unfortunately the ball came off slowly."

The left-handed Jadeja hit a career-best 90 in the 1st innings and picked up 4 wickets. India took a 2-0 lead in the five-match rubber. Chasing 103, India cruised to victory for the loss of 2 wickets on the 4th day on Tuesday.

Ravindra Jadeja plays a shot on way to 90

After collecting his Man-of-the-match award, Jadeja was asked about his big shot which brought about his downfall at the score of 90. He said he would be careful next time if he reaches 90 in a Test match.

"I took the risk against the legspinner (Adil Rashid). Unfortunately the ball came off slowly, and did not hit the middle (of the bat). Next time if I reach 90, I will be careful and play normal shots (to reach a century)," Jadeja said.

Jadeja, on 90, went for a big shot off Rashid and was caught by Chris Woakes at long-on. Thanks to his knock, India took a crucial 134-run lead.

Talking about his performance, he said, "I am very happy with my performance, especially with the bat. Was just looking to bat as long as I can."

The 4th Test starts in Mumbai on December 8.
