New Delhi, December 6: Having taken three wickets on the fourth day, India will be eager to wrap the third Test against Sri Lanka on Wednesday (December 6).
Chasing an improbable 410, Sri Lanka were reduced to 31 for three by Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja and the hosts would not want to prolong the match.
The pitch still does not offer any considerable assistance to the bowlers but the Indians have showed admirable control over line and length at the Kotla pitch to dominate the Lankan batsmen.
Sri Lanka's hopes of survival will be on the experienced pair of skipper Dinesh Chandimal and his predecessor Angelo Mathews. Both Chandimal and Mathews had scored centuries in the first innings to keep the relentless Indians at bay for over five hours.
The Lankans would look forward for them for an encore.
