Chasing 103 for victory, the hosts reached 104/2 in 20.2 overs with opener Parthiv Patel top-scoring with an unbeaten 67.

Today (November 29), at the IS Bindra Stadium, India defeated England by 8 wickets on the 4th day of the 3rd Test. Chasing 103 for victory, the hosts reached 104/2 in 20.2 overs with opener Parthiv Patel top-scoring with an unbeaten 67.

Parthiv was playing a Test after a gap of 8 years, being named as a replacement for the injured Wriddhiman Saha.

In the post-match presentation ceremony, Kohli said the team had played good cricket and they were getting confident.

"None of the pitches have been turners. We have been playing very good cricket and gaining confidence. It is evident on the field," Kohli told Sanjay Manjrekar in his post-match comments on Star Sports.

Whenever India play at home, the focus is on the pitches. The hosts are often accused of preparing rank turners to suit their spinners. But this series has been different.

The Indian skipper said losing the toss motivated the team. "I was surprised by the cheer after winning the toss to be honest. You still have to go out there and play good cricket. That motivated us actually to show that the toss doesn't matter for this team," he added.

The 4th Test starts in Mumbai on December 8.
