New Delhi, September 10: There's an old saying that "age is just a number," and when it comes to success, passion and dedication often matter far more. At 47-years-old, former South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir is proving this and living up to everyone's expectations in a spectacular way.

In the recent Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Kings, Tahir displayed his magic at a packed Providence Stadium on September 10th. The Warriors' skipper bowled so well that the Kings were bowled out for 119 runs. In the end, he finished with 5 wickets for just 17 runs.

5/17 From 4!: Tahir Rips Apart Kings

St. Lucia Kings won the toss and opted to bat first. Although they got off to a brisk start, Guyana's spinners soon took control and put the brakes on the scoring.

Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowlers, conceding just 17 runs in his four-over spell while claiming five wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.25. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also made a significant impact, picking up three wickets for just 13 runs in his four overs.

Tahir proved virtually unplayable, dismantling the St. Lucia Kings' batting line-up with a remarkable five-wicket haul. His first breakthrough came when he trapped top-scorer Kamil Pooran lbw for 43, before dismissing captain Roston Chase in similar fashion.

The veteran leg-spinner continued his assault, bowling Mackenzie Clarke and Matthew Ford before completing his five-wicket haul by trapping Joshua Bishop lbw. Bishop was beaten by Tahir's deceptive googly, and although the decision was reviewed, the on-field call was ultimately upheld, sealing a memorable spell for the spinner.

Obass Pienaar Led Fightback For St Lucia Kings

The St. Lucia Kings found themselves in deep trouble at 73 for seven, with Guyana's spin attack making it difficult for the batters to build any momentum. Tahir and Mehidy Hasan Miraz kept the pressure firmly on, restricting the scoring and triggering a steady collapse.

Obass Pienaar briefly stemmed the slide with a fighting 35 off 28 deliveries, including four boundaries and a six. Maheesh Theekshana added an unbeaten six from 11 balls as the Kings were eventually bowled out for 119 in 18.5 overs. Guyana made light work of the chase, reaching 122 for six in just 18.3 overs to seal a comfortable victory.

In addition to Tahir's five wickets, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took three. Dwaine Pretorius and Romario Shepherd also chipped in with 1 wicket apiece.
