500th Test: Fans pick India's 'Best Test XI'; MS Dhoni is captain

Bengaluru, Sep 26: India's "Best Test XI" has been chosen by fans today (September 26) with Mahendra Singh Dhoni getting the nod as the team's captain.

As part of India's 500th Test, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had invited fans to pick a "Dream Team" and the results were revealed on Monday.

Rahul Dravid garnered the highest votes, receiving 96 per cent while the second best was Kapil Dev with 91%. Surprisingly, Yuvraj Singh was chosen as the 12th man.

On its Twitter handle, BCCI announced the "Dream Team" as chosen by fans. "Here are the results of India's #DreamTeam as per fan votes #500thTest," the Indian cricket board tweeted with the team.

Bating legend Sachin Tendulkar, who holds the record of playing in most Tests - 200, got 73% of votes.

Dhoni is India's most successful Test skipper with 27 wins from 60 matches. He played 90 Tests and retired in 2014.

India won the 500th Test, thrashing New Zealand by 197 runs at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium.
