India A Women's cricket team pulled off a stunning victory from the jaws of defeat in the 2nd unofficial ODI match against Australia A women at Brisbane on Friday, August 15.
The Indian women stood tall amid adversities and managed to win a thriller against the Aussies, thus capping off a perfect 79th Independence Day, albeit thousands of miles away from Indian soil. Tanuja Kanwar and Prema Rawat put on a fantastic 8th wicket partnership to take the women in Blue home.

Alyssa Healy scored 91 runs as a strong Australia A side put of 265 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Minnu Mani picked up three wickets while Saima Thakor also bagged two wickets.
India A kept on losing wickets in the early stages but Yastika Bhatia scored 66 runs off 71 deliveries. But when captain Radha Yadav departed for 60, India A were 193 for 7 and needed 73 runs in the last 11 overs. Despite many predicting an India defeat, two lower-order India batters had other plans.
Tanuja Kanwar and Prema Rawat stitched a superb partnership of 68 runs for the 8th wicket and took India out of the grasp of defeat. Together, they batted terrifically and took India closer towards victory. Kanwar scored 50 runs off 57 deliveries before getting dismissed in the final over of the match.
But Prema Rawat stayed till the end and hit the winning runs for India A to cap off a stellar victory. Rawat ended up unbeaten 32 off just 33 balls as India A won the match by 2 wickets with a ball to spare. With the victory, the women have taken a 2-0 lead in the series.
