Bengaluru, September 11: Faf du Plessis, who will lead World XI in Pakistan, said the team members are proud of their role in getting international cricket back to Pakistan.
"It is a huge day for Pakistan cricket and Paksitan team. It's a matter of joy for us that we can play a small role in getting international cricket back to Pakistan because that's how it should be," said the South African.
In fact, this is du Plessis second visit to Pakistan since his under-19 days and the Proteas skipper hoped this time too it will remain a memorable occasion.
"I have been to Pakistan during my under-19 days, so this makes it the second time," said du Plessis, who will lead a side that features his teammates Hashim Amla, the South African batting mainstay, leg-spinner Imran Tahir and fast bowler Morne Morkel among others. West Indian man Darren Sammy is too part of the team.
"I remember it being very hot. We spent a lot of time in the academy in Lahore. So, it's good to comeback to the country. We are expecting it to be a very loud atmosphere. It will be a great thing for all us to see international cricket getting back to Pakistan," he signed off.
