Former Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Chris Gayle says many RCB players felt left out of the squad during his time at the franchise.
RCB have always been a star-studded franchise with some flamboyant and gigantic characters of the sport representing them over the years.
It started with the likes of Rahul Dravid, and Jacques Kallis in the early days, but later, the stardom of the team was enhanced with the arrivals of Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers.

And as Virat Kohli emerged as one of the game's stalwarts, the RCB juggernaut used to follow the trio of Kohli, De Villiers and Gayle. And the former West Indies batter has recently revealed it created a huge gap between them and the other players, as the attention used to revolve around them only.
Despite having elite squads on paper, the RCB franchise are yet to taste success in IPL and have never won a trophy. They have made it to the final twice but couldn't get their hands on the trophy. And while dissecting the reason for their underwhelming record, Gayle made this shocking revelation.
"Sometimes being one of the main players of the franchise, what I understand when it comes on from RCB point of view is that a lot of players feel left out. A lot of players didn't feel like they were part of the franchise," Gayle said in a chat show on JioCinema.
He continued that he along with Kohli and De Villiers used to get all the pampering and attention, which was a major setback to the harmony of the remainder of the roster.
"It was like only three players getting the attention - myself, Virat and AB. A lot of players pretty much mentally they are nowhere within the team. So that's always going to be a challenge to win the title," Gayle added.
