Sarfaraz Khan received some massive praise from AB de Villiers ahead of the second India vs England Test which starts in Visakhapatnam from Friday, February 2. The 26-year-old has been inducted in the squad for the second Test in the absence of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja.
AB de Villiers, who has seen Sarfaraz Khan from close quarters when the right-hand batter was with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from 2015 to 2018, quoted the Mumbai batter's first-class record and termed it 'not normal'.

“It's just very exciting for me. His record in first-class cricket is quite outstanding, and if there's a guy that deserves it, it's certainly him. He has played 66 innings, 3912 runs, and an average of 69.85. 14 hundreds and 11 fifties, guys, that is not normal,” said the former South Africa captain on his Youtube channel.
AB de Villiers also backed Sarfaraz Khan to feature in the India playing for the second Test. He pointed out that Rajat Patidar, who was called in the team ahead of the first Test as Virat Kohli's replacement, is also competing for a place in the eleven.
"That is a very, very good first-class record. I know it's a big jump up to international cricket against England, on the biggest stage, I hope he gets a chance because Rajat Patidar has also been playing well," said De Villiers.
Rajat Patidar hit a hundred in the 1st Unofficial Test against England Lions before being included in the team as Kohli's replacement. Sarfaraz Khan hit a cracking hundred in the second Unofficial Test against England Lions.
